Luke 10:1-12,17-20
(14th Sunday in Ordinary Time)
Three questions:
What encounters have we had when our vulnerability has been a door to connection with other people?
Imposter syndrome? At least some of the disciples must have felt it. Do we feel like that about our faith, and about sharing it?
At the end Jesus reminds the 72 that it is God’s work, not theirs, which has brought about healing etc. This can be used in both constructive and destructive ways – encouraging us to keep on being a channel for “God’s work”; defending an action which we don’t want to take responsibility for; avoiding acting because we don’t want to think God wants us to do it. Any examples we can learn from?
