Luke 10:25-37

(15th Sunday in Ordinary Time)

Questions:

1) This is probably one of the most, if not the most, well-known bible passages. What are the positives and negatives of that? How can we find ways to make ourselves come to these sorts of passages with fresh eyes/ ears?

2) Where do I place myself in this story? What are the reasons ... valid or otherwise ... why I might "walk by on the otherside" and what are the reasons ... valid or otherwise ... why I might stop to help?

3) Is this just a parable about human behaviour? Where is God in this passage and what (if anything) does it tell me about the identity of God?

4) Does the description of the Samaritan as "good" help or hinder my understanding of this text and what it calls me to?
