1) What words, phrases or parts of the text strike you? What interest, inspires, challenges or confuses you?

2) What stops us from seeing Jesus? Can we think of both internal and external factors which limit our view? What are we willing to do to get sight of this Jesus? Do we desire to see him enough to put in the necessary effort?

3) Are we willing to follow people into our world or are we more comfortable inviting them into ours?

4) What do you think of the possible alternative explanation that this is less a ‘conversion’ story and more a ‘recognition of goodness is surprising places’ story? Do you think there is any merit in this alternative view? Does it add anything to your understanding of this text?
